Well, that didn't last long.

Yeah. No. The interactive templates are just....I don't know. They seem TOO modern and they are just...not as cute. So back to this template. But new background :)

OH NO! I'VE LOST MY TWITTER BIRD :'''(

New Setup

So I'm really looking for some feedback on this. If you are even just passing through, please oh please give me some feed back! I'm not sure how much I like the dynamic layouts. They are pretty cool but I'm just not sure.
And I no longer have the twitter bird (super sad face) but you can go to the twitter page by clicking on "Twitter" at the top of this page.
Oh, and you can change how it looks. The default is Timeslide but if you click on that drop down there are a few different options.

Note about twitter: I really don't go on there very often, it just posts whenever I post a new blog post on here. And it's linked to my youtube account so every time I like a video it will show up. So be warned, you may get spammed with like 30 French music videos one day. And I won't feel bad if you stop following me. There's only like three followers, so it's ok. I'll forgive you. I understand.

That's what friends are for....isn't that a song?

Is it? Because I feel like it is...

Anyway, I just realized how much I use my friend Gracie as a diary. She gets to hear all of my "funny stuff that happened in school today" even though she probably doesn't find most of it funny and is probably sitting there rolling her eyes because most of it revolves around my current crus--uh...*ahem* (Yes, I am refusing to call it a crush, long story.) And then of course she listens patiently to my fangirl moments about how Christophe Maé either broke his arm or hurt his shoulder (and I even made her look at a picture that Merwan Rim posted so she could see that Christophe's sleeve was clearly empty even though his jacket was done up) or about how so and so tweeted back at me or how cute Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr's little boy is (and despite all of this, I DO have a life!) yada yada yada.
And so, I'd just like to thank her for putting up with all of my ridiculousness and pretending that she finds it as funny/sad/appalling as I do!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU GRACIAS GRACIAS GRACIAS GRACIAS GRACIAS GRACIAS GRACIAS GRACIAS GRACIAS MERCI MERCI MERCI MERCI MERCI MERCI MERCI MERCI MERCI MERCI MERCI MERCI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So "That's what friends are for" IS a song, from Fox and the Hound, but I felt that this would be more appropriete because I hope that I never have to hunt Gracie down so that a hunter can kill her :) (and it sounded more like a love song :C< )

3/4 Ain't bad...Well really it's more like 3/3

So I'm TECHNICALLY following 4 French musicians on Twitter, but I really only claim to be a fan of 3/4. So, yeah. Well I've already posted about Pascal Obispo retweeting my tweet and Merwan Rim replying to one, but then the other night the third guy replied ^_^

So this is Quentin Mosimann:

Pretty cute, no? (Of course, I don't personally care for tattoos and piercings, but he somehow pulls it off...)

And anyways, the other night he posted this picture:

And I thought "Wow, his hair looks quite awesome." So I told him "@quentinmosimann I just though you should know, your hair looks quite awesome in that picture."

And he replied with "@mytwitterusernamethatisn'thi i didnt sleep yet..." Which I take to mean "yes, my hair does look awesome, and that's not even my bedhead."

So yes. Third successful tweet exchange with a French dude :)

P.S. I was just thinking about how it seems like French people are better at interacting with their fans on twitter and would like to say that it is not entirely true. Kris Williams (of Syfy's Ghost Hunters and Ghost Hunters International) is great at interacting with people and has in fact retweeted me. Actually, she was the first person of note that interacted with me on Twitter ^_^ so thank you Kris!
And I'd also like to thank Dustin Pari for the Direct Messages. Another nice way to interact with followers, and it seems much more personal which is always welcomed :)

Yes I could have made each of these people blog posts, but the interactions happened so long ago that the exact in-the-moment excitement has been forgotten and so the posts would have less of an impact, in my opinion

P.P.S I dislike the new post making layout. Mostly just the fact that unless you press enter a bunch of times you don't have any extra space when you are at the bottom of the page. I like having that "bumper" zone of white. I guess that's just part of me being a bit claustrophobic. Others than that the new dashboard layout isn't too bad.

The cross out was added 10/22/12. To find out why, read the post posted on that date entitled "Umm...Ok?"

Gr.

If you say "golly" "gosh" "jeepers" or anything similar before posting a condescending and sarcastic post, I will kill you with my mind powers through the computer screen. It's one thing to be rude. It's another to use stupid and innocent sounding vocabulary to heighten your sarcasm. It irks me to no end.

One day...

I'm finally going to be able to say "Hey, I knew that guy BEFORE he was famous!"
You know why? Because my AMAZINGLY talented friend Addam is going to be on The Voice next season. He was INVITED to audition for it at the end of this month. There is no way he won't make it. He is sooo talented and such a sweet genuine guy. I really do hope he goes VERY far in the competition.
Tonight there was a concert at the school to help raise money so that he could fly down to LA for the audition. With all the people that came, he was able to raise $1,100!! And that was with $5 per person to get in plus any donations. It's so exciting to see people come together to support someone. There were people there I would have never expected to come. And it made me feel really good. Especially considering one of them was our  new class vice president. (For his and the president's campaign they actually came to the Drama class and asked us what WE wanted, since the performing arts always gets left out at my school. So it's good to know that they might actually follow through and give our people a little more support after all the support we give to the sports teams.) It's always nice to see people who don't normally go to performances like this, show up.

Just seeing a community in general come together gives you a great feeling.
Last year, a few weeks before school ended, a friend of mine was in a crash with his little sister. She died and he was in a coma for a while. It ended up leaving a pretty hefty medical bill for the family to pay. So about a week after school let out, the Drama department/club at my school put on a Variety Benefit Show. SO MANY people came! We raised over $7,000 for the family! It gives you the coolest feeling in the world when people come up to you and put a $50 bill into your donations bucket, or even $100 check! And seeing people scramble to dig out whatever money they have with them is such an awesome sight. Even when they do only donate 50 cents. It's just nice to see people give and then to see how it helps others.

It's days and nights like these that I'm so proud of the community I live in. Of course there's things that still need to be changed, but it's a start when people are willing to give whatever they have to help someone.
I hope you have a fantastic day/night and touch someone's life. Trust me, you will never feel a better feeling.

*Head-desk*

You know what I hate? When someone complains about something and then turns around and does it. Such as (NOTE: This example is going to be based off of many threads I've seen in online forums):
Person 1: *Introduces idea* So what do you guys think?
Persons 2-6 agree in some form.
Person 7: I don't think that would work...*lists reasons why they disagree with it*
Person 4: You don't have to be so rude! Gosh the OP was just sharing an idea!
Person 6: Yeah, it seems like whenever someone has a different idea everyone just has to go and shut them down!
Persons 2-6 agree with each other in some way that Person 7 was trolling.
Person 1: Thanks guys, I guess some people just don't like hearing what other people have to say. You know what Person 7, if you aren't going to be nice you can just leave! This is my thread and you don't have the right to take it over!
Person 7: *Thinking: WTFREAK???? O.O*

It's ridiculous. Especially when you have a thread that is OBVIOUSLY based on sharing opinions and all of a sudden it becomes completely one sided and if you disagree with the stronger side then you are automatically a troll who is just trying to get attention and you should leave the thread because you're worthless and no one likes you.

DEAR PEOPLE OF THE INTERNET:

  • If you ask for an opinion EXPECT OPINIONS OF ALL KINDS.
  • If you present an idea that will lead to different opinions SEE BULLET ONE.
  • If you start a thread with any deeper meaning or thought process put into it SEE BULLET ONE.
  • If you are just posting to share something you found out or you made something and wanted to share it....heck, SEE BULLET ONE.
Basically if you are on the internet you should be aware that there really truly are real people behind that screen. I promise you. They have brains that work and form ideas and opinions. I assure you. So please, realize this when you go to post something. I've gotten into the habit of adding "If any of this seemed harsh/rude at all, I'm sorry. I didn't mean for it to come across that way." to something if I feel it was too straightforward with not enough lighthearted comments. Heck I'll add it even with a plethora of witty and lighthearted comments.

The point is...Karma. Yes, kids, I have a common theme today. Karma. If you are going to be a jerk, Karma is going to be a jerk (and so are all the people you come into contact with). So, don't be a jerk. And have a nice day.

...Which leads me to the song of the day:

Dear people with access to French cds.

You suck. Ok, not really. You rock. It's just that the French selections around here suck. And why am I especially rantful about this right now? Because Merwan Rim has a new cd due out on Monday (but it's already being sold in some stores across France...don't worry, he knows). And guess what? I can't get it. I mean I COOOULD order it on Amazon. But I don't like dealing with real-virtual money. Even in the form of gift cards. I guess I might cave in on this one though. He released the music to this one website so that they could play it and people could hear the entire cd....it's so gooood! And I used to be ehh about his voice because it's pretty high, mind you it's no where NEAR Christophe Willem's O.o, but it's so pretty...and clear. It's like glass. And he did a song in English. In English! Can you believe it? You wanna know what's even more surprising? His English is practically perfect. You seriously can't tell he's French when he sings in English! And some people you can, especially if they other wise don't speak a lick of it. And so, I've come to the conclusion that Merwan knows English pretty darn well. Where am I even going with this??? Ok...so yeah...he did a song in English and it's good...VERY good. And I mean, he's not a bad looking guy. He's like the kind of French guy that you would be very happy to meet at a club one night on spring break in Paris. Or whatever. You know what I mean? So either he needs to start singing more English to get his music over here, or Americans need to wake up and smell the café au lait!

Café au lait.

Merwan Rim.

I'll take both please!

I hate this.

Being sick sucks. My sinuses are all clogged up and so I can't hear very well and my head hurts. This morning really sucked. Even after two Nyquil and going to bed at 7:30 last night, I was still soooo achy. Stayed home today, but no matter what I have to tough it out tomorrow. I have a math test and it's the final day of notes before the biology test. So yeah, needless to say, missing tomorrow would suck.
But sadly, I missed the college fair today....I was really looking forward to that, but it just wasn't worth it.
